Agriculture Minister William Ruto defended his stand on the Mau issue. The minister said it is about poor squatters settled in the Mau and who must be compensated. As NTVs Rita Tinina reports, Ruto is also dismissing claims that he is using the Mau Forest to hold Prime Minister Raila Odinga at ransom.

  • It is better to lose one man (or tribe or community) than to lose a whole nation...simple! If Moi, Kenyatta 'duped' Kenyans, then that is part of the historical injustices Kenyans are fighting against! No one will be given a cent except the 1,962 genuinely known cases. Stop dreaming, some of the guys shouting were in those same governments. It is time to clean the mess.

  • Fuck you central Mps you know you will never vote for another tribe ni mdomo tu

  • Is he saying he's now ready to have moi answer for his crimes? he's obviously a beneficiary.

  • Is Raila the man who runs politics in Kenya, or am I just seeing things? This is so funny, truly in politics there are no real friends or enemies just potential eating mates.

  • RAILA TOSHA!!

  • You are right. everybody should carry their own cross...

  • Freeg., we deal in specifics- Individual equals crime committed. Like the PM did yesterday in parliament. Names, then we tear them apart! Wezi are hiding behind their tribes poverty...enough of that BS.

  • Who is 'crafty' here? give us names... the individuals against crime committed. Kila mtu abebe wake msalaba sasa. Wholesale condemnation of communities or regimes is vague and will not get us anywhere! Tit for tat is nursery school games not National Security issues!

  • we should not also leave out the Mwai Kibaki government. They also distributed the title deeds hoping to get some of the land but where chased away by William Ruto Millitia in 2007 election. He william Ruto is surely a warlord.

  • Ruto a tribal leader, he cares more about the welfare of the kalenjins than of Kenyans. So to him he gives no toss if the country goes dry and becomes a desert so long as his accomplises keep the huge tracks of ill gotten land in the Mau.
