@poohshere37 Hi, yes she's slowing down as a result of her diet and the degenerating effects it's had on her body through her life. Her bones maybe becoming more brittle with the re-inforcing fiber collagen being stripped out by her present diet which explains wanting to be let down from the bed.
At this stage it has become critical she switches to a clean healthy natural diet based around raw meats on the bone. This will fix most of her complaints very quickly.

@Maiyaee Hi, thankyou for dropping by and commenting, I'm pleased you found value in what I had to say. When dog owners finally "get it" with their dogs nutritional needs and their dog can now finally get the good stuff and recover from illness caused by commercial dog food or just get onto a diet that is in line with their biology, I feel all the effort has been worth it.
Dogs deserve a raw based diet, it's what their bodies crave for real health and vitality.

@BellasLabPuppies Hi, I'm presuming she is following the exact same daily routine as a year ago? Being the same weight is a good thing. Is her heart rate the same as a year ago and was thyroid tested b4? The vast majority of dogs seen by vets eat a commercial food diet & measure stats criteria by those perameters. Example- blood protein levels in raw fed dogs are generally higher (normal) leading to an incorrect diagnosis by vets. If her diets balanced and behavior is normal it's little concern.
Hi Dan, Today at the vets I found out that my dog has Diabetes. I still have to get his urine tested to see what type it is but I wanted to ask you. My dog is 11 going on 12 hes a Jack Russell mixed(small guy). My question is what type of cut of meat is best to start him off with, and because off his age what would be a good portion to give him?

@Falconmasterson Hi, first off you need to know his condition and if he's going to need insulin meds. It's sad to think his diet got him to this state but if the diabetes is not too bad you can fix him pretty quickly, certainly within the next six months.
Start by dropping present diet and I mean dropping (as in the trash) all kibble/canned food, it's poison!
Types of meat: chicken to start (leg, thigh, back etc) then move onto lamb breast, pork belly, trotter etc. TBC.

@danscott888 ... Try out what you can find from your local butcher or other meat producer. Also locate raw green tripe (it's awesome for healing this condition) on the internet may turn up some suppliers (frozen boxed delivery).
The good thing is he's small and food costs are minimal. Feed large portions so he has to break it down, great for cleaning teeth too.
Think raw meat on the bone (he needs both meat & bone). One main meal a day. TBC.

@danscott888 ... if he's a finnicky starter, starve him for a day and he'll be eager to eat. Remember if he is on insulin shots to test and adjust the shots as you go through the new diet and dont worry about BUN levels being high on this diet, thats normal. Any more help, talk privately on my channel.
All the best.
