This film sequence featured at the John McCormack Gala Tribute Concert, which took place at the National Concert Hall, Dublin.
The montage is accompanied by Mascagni's Intermezzo from Cavalleria Rusticana, which was performed by the Irish Film Orchestra.
In 1907, at the age of 23 John McCormack's made his operatic debut in Cavalleria Rusticana at the Royal Opera House Covent Garden. For the next eight years he would be the lead tenor at the great opera house.
