Students at the California Institute of the Arts have built an orchestra of interactive musical robots. Musicians use specialized computer programs to play the robotic instruments. The AP sat in on a rehearsal for an upcoming concert. (May 13)

  • I think it already exists... It's called FRUITY LOOPS.

  • This looks cool as a fun project - but really, how lame is this? They went to all this effort to beat a drum - when they could've just learned to beat the drum on their own and have it sound better.

  • Half of these aren't robots... the guy said it himself:

    "...granted, some of these things are drums... you can do it with a solenoid"

    I wish I had a class based on this. It'd be fun... but even I could do it.
