As a former radio personality, I wish more R&B stations played real music like this! When I did the "Quiet Storm" at a small raio station in Michigan, I always sneaked in music like this to my playlist and was rated #1 in my time slot 3 times in my year and a half that I held that position. I am totally with you bmac. Maysa has a quality to her voice and her music that cannot be duplicated. Im 30 and live in Los Angeles. She'll be here on 11/28 in Huntington Beach w Nick Coleone. I find myself resorting to artists of the late 80's early 90's just to get my buzz. Folks like Maysa, Lizz Wright, Bilal, and Frank McComb don't get due justice. Im glad Ledisi is finally out there. We gotta use the internet and word-of-mouth to keep these artisits afloat. I try at my salon to do so.
