Dr.ワイリーが初めて製作した純粋な戦闘用ロボット。前作のカットマンをベースに造られたといわれる。全方向連射可能のセラミカルチタン製の手投げ式回転ノコギリ「メタ­ルブレード」を武器に、高く跳躍し、上空から連射攻撃を行う。時折、ベルトコンベアーの方向が切り替わる瞬間に画面処理の都合で2段ジャンプを行う事がある。ロックバスタ­ーに弱いという欠陥があったという設定だが、実際はそれほど弱いわけではない。ライト博士曰く「未来の歯医者さん」。ロックマンの行動にあわせてジャンプし、メタルブレー­ドを投げてくる。ファミリーコンピュータでは自分の武器であるメタルブレードやクイックブーメランが弱点だが、ゲームボーイではクイックブーメランを持っているクイックマ­ンと競演しない為、ファミリーコンピュータではダメージ0だったクラッシュボムが弱点になっている。
