I remember the earlier series " it's Cold Outside" (black and white I think) as much darker and quirkier. Unlike revooh 1, my mum was very uncomfortable letting me watch it. In Australia it wasn't on until 9.30 when the kids were in bed. Are any recordings still in existance?
I worked at Granada from 1964-1969 and knew Bill Mervyn when he starred in Mr. Rose. He was not that young - although he must have been in his fifties then. Quite full of himself and quick to criticize other people, including me. I always felt he was quite conceited, but not half as much as Oliver Reed, who was the epitome of ego.
I recall this from my childhood. It was broadcast on Friday nights at 9pm on ITV. As it was the weekend I was allowed to sit up late. My grandparents would watch it so it was all perfectly safe for children to watch even at 9pm. I think most of the episodes were filmed in colour
