"Communism," "socialism," and "fascism" are very broad terms about complex political theories. I don't think a lot of people in this debate are using these terms correctly. We need to be specific about what we agree/disagree with and not use buzz words to assign likes and dislikes.
I attended the 'House Call' event to voice my dissent against the House bill. That is all. I didn't attend to support a GOP version, or make false claims, etc. The tea party movement is comprised of individuals. I am just one of them.
Let's have the government set up a gasoline company....you know, so they can offer more competition to privately-owned gas stations. Oh yeah, and then make everyone who owns a car let's say, pay an extra tax to the fed gov't. so the fed gov't can apply that tax revenue to reducing the cost of gas. Then, the gov't gas will only cost $1.00 a gallon compared to the private gas stations' $2.50 a gallon. Yeah!!!Cheap gas!!! Aw, shucks, all the private gas stations went out of business.
I think what a lot of this is just that the tea partiers realize, "Well, I gotta atone for my sins for allowing Bush to do all that crap in his 8 years."
At least the tea parties BEFORE this big healthcare debate actually had some merit (anti-spending), although, again, where were these people when Bush was in power? The funny thing is, these people probably would NEVER have protested and gone to DC had people like Bachmann or right-wing groups like A for P not invited them and called them to action. They wouldn't have done this on their own and thought "Hmm, maybe I should protest."
I'M independent-minded. I'm no shill for Obama, but I am objective. I hate both sides, although the Right more and more is giving me pause. They're acting the same way they did when Clinton was in office, only to a much greater degree and much more vicious. Remember the Arkansas Project? The Christian and secular Right forces coming together to smear and try to bring down Clinton so he wouldn't get reelected?? "documentaries" like mena connection and Clinton Chronicles?
I'm going to buy that new revolution flag so I can set it up at the gun range.
