Here is an experiment of mine as well as an quick tutorial on exporting.
Jump to: 7:30 for exporting audio in Audacity.

Please excuse me for taking so long to do somethings in this video, as i said i have never done this before so it is new to me. I believe this is the best way to produce a song even thought it may be a bit more complex, the quality is somewhat better as well.
Audacity link: http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
Doolb666: http://www.youtube.com/user/doolb666 Check him out, he does horror movie reviews as well as being a good friend of mine and i had to give him credit for his song.

I hope this helps you. If you need further help or need help with anything let me know, just message or comment.

  • Oh, I assume there is no pitch correct in a general sense for my "pitchy vocals" in Audacity? seems like you can change pitch overall but not some form of auto-tune?

  • @darkskyatnight Hmm In Audacity? Well you could edit the vocals independently and change pitch of the whole track or independent parts if you chose but that would merely be if you were singing off pitch so more of pitch correction in its simplest terms. If you were looking for auto-tuning you would need to find a VST auto tuner like Gsnap but I'm not sure if it would work in Audacity i believe there are videos on it look it up and if i figure it out in my free time i will get

  • @darkskyatnight back to you, if i wanted to auto-tune a track i would rather do it in LMMS non-destructively as it simple applies an effect instead of rendering with the effect.

Although then again that is a whole other program, however it is free also and has a number of tutorials on how to use it as well. However it is primarily a music creator not editor. So check it out if you want, and if you have any more questions let me know.

  • Thank you so much for this video dude, just one question, what do you think of the Audacity software? Is there a better/easier software to use?

  • @alterbridgebrad Better or easier to use than what? And no problem I'm here to help. I think it is really great often surpasses some of the commercial audio editors Ive seen, although it may not be as flashy...It does have shortcomings but it doesn't really take away from the program as whole. Overall It does 95% of what i want it to do and its free. If you have any more questions feel free to ask.

  • How can you plug say a dtx extreme yamaha drum kit into the dp02?

  • @oilyfresh Im not familiar with that unit but, it should have some type of audio out maybe it says out to amp or something, you would then plug that into the inputs on the DP-02 if you have any more questions let me know...

  • Thanks SOOO much. I LOVE the DP-02 but felt it was not great for mixing down really. EQ was not really good, not great control. I just Downloaded Audacity and am storing tracks in the DP02 to import, Can't wait to improve my recordings!-russ

  • @oilyfreshif the korg has a headphone jack you need to by an audio cord( a cord with headphone jacks on each end) and probably some adapters...then you'll be able to plug one end into the tascams inputs with an adapter and the other end into the korg(if needed) then all u have to do is turn the tascam input knob up and there you have it....

  • @gunn1314 I tried every combination you can think of. I alsohave a korg triton extreme and I can't figure out where to plug anything in so as to hear it back. I havn't tried doing the guitar yet because thats seems to be less complicated. I just bought this unit sunday and have been over the booklet but that doesn't help with any of this.
