@aftercolumbia I'm sure that the sprites are not to scale, somehow, like how in adventure games your characters are the size of an entire city in the overworld, but somehow shrink to normal-person-size on the next screen. Also to keep in mind is that the little guy you control is actually a Giant Fighting Robot that is himself the size of a small building. ALSO notice that he is always in front of the shuttle, meaning it is further away than he is, adding to its potential size.
