Battlefield 3 at MAX Settings

Computer:
CPU: AMD Phenom II 1090T X6 3.20GHZ
RAM: 16GB DDR3 1333MHZ
GPU: ATI Radeon HD 6950 2GB DDR5
PSU: Thermaltake W0319RU TR2 RX 850-watt
MOBO: MSI 760GM-E51 Motherboard

With FRAPS: 30-65FPS
Without FRAPS: 52-85FPS

Not my best performance in the game, but just trying to get my medic stats up (without being that guy that kills his team for easy revives).

If you are wondering if you should buy this game, or if it has epic moments, skip to 2:39. Enjoy.

I have recieved some messages and emails about the different parts so I thought I would put a shopping list together of sorts for people to use. This is geared as a powerful gaming build that leans on the side remaining low budget. At the time all of these items were excellent deals, but I am sure using this as a template could get you a sweet computer for low cost. This cost me less than $600, which isn't bad for a computer I won't need to replace for at least two years (thats a matter of opinion, I know). I hope this helps some people who are in the market for a new PC.

When hit a link, just hit skip in the upper right.

// Note: I hate having monstrous computers, but the thought of cramming this in that smaller case worried me. Luckily, it all fit fine, but in the near future I may remove the DVD drive and put an attractive External next to my monitor. With no issues with booting via USB, 6 USB ports on the back alone and the extra space in the tower; I actually prefer the option.

// This would be the one used:
// External DVD Alternitive: http://adf.ly/3ytA3

// The case chosen in this build is a huge bang for the buck as well. It sports 2x 120mm with provided ports for 2 more. It helps keep the temps down a lot!

  • I have buy yesterday the same vga...that's amazing!!!

  • Pretty intense gameplay you have here, if you ask me.

  • @PCGamerman37 Nice to hear you finally have it. It's a great card. I've seen and read many good reviews about. As for BF3, like i said your set-up is more than capable of running it. Xfire would be even better but there's no rush. You don't need to spend alot of money on a rig to run the game on ultra settings. I must say though your QX9650 really holds it's value in price. I saw it on Amazon for £499.99. You could buy an i7, ram and a mobo for that price and still have money left over. lol

  • @Iamthe80sguy I just received the 2GB 6950 today. I must say it puts the gtx 295 to shame. I can run bf3 on ultra along with AA and still i get around 45 - 55 fps on average and to think the setup i'm running it on aswell. It does a fantastic job but imagine if i had a second card in there. Fuck me :)

  • @PCGamerman37 the recommended system requirements are a Quad-core Intel or AMD CPU, 4GB ram, DirectX 11 Nvidia or AMD ATI card, Nvidia GeForce GTX 560 or ATI Radeon 6950 with at least 1gb vram. Your cpu is still one of the best 775 X chips for the socket and yes, it will run BF3 with no problems. Your ram is more than enough, however the GTX 295 can't run the game maxed out becuase it dosen't have enough vram for it. This will cause slow downs and stuttering. You'll be fine with the 6950 2GB.

  • 8 gb kinsgston hyperX ddr2 1066mhz

    cpu QX9650 @3.60ghz

Yeh i looked and seen other people maxing out this game on the 6950, even with older cpu's.

  • @PCGamerman37 Lol you no what. Just expect 15-20 more fps all the time.

  • @PCGamerman37 Or maybe youll get higher fps than this guy is getting. Ive been researching this card alot for battle feild Im hoping when i get mine with i72600k @ 4.5 ghz and 8 gb of ram at 1920x1080 ill get over 60 fps constant maybe youll have evn moree.

  • @PCGamerman37 I think on the 6950 2gb 1680x1080 with everything Ultra and AA off This thing might even hit 60 fps alot. in in the most demanding maps it shouldnt go down under 40 or 35. But whats your processor? and ram bc that matters so it doesnt bottle neck

  • @CodzKilla415 i get around 43 fps on average depanding on what map it is and how many players.

My res is set at 1680x1080

Settings mostly on ultra but anti aliasing deferred is off

    Terran quality on medium

    anti aliasing post on high

Even if the settings are on low the game has alot of stutter on various maps.

Oh yeh give my a 6970 anyday man lol
