Unboxing and first boot of my Nokia N900 US edition.
Includes unboxing, installation of SIM and battery, and boot. I didnt bore you with the initial setup though.

Ordered from Newegg but Amazon had a good price too.

Loving the phone! Still anxiously waiting for newest software rev though.

Limited Mac compatibility but iSync plugin can be found and also aps to sync music and pictures.

Browser is amazing, tried Farmville on Facebook and it worked like a charm. ESPN flash works well too.

Being a iPhone user, the screen and interface takes a little getting used. That said, after a weekend of living with the phone, I am not disappointed at all.

Battery lasts about a day or 24 hrs with heavy use on 3G and wif.

Maemo 5 is still in its infancy, about where the iPhone was in early software revs. For example, it can copy and paste, but doesn't seem to work in between apps. Ctrl +_ shortcuts are awesome.

I am now running Lehto's 950 mhz / 500 mhz DSP kernel. Phone is ridiculously fast! Battery lasts longer than stock too!

(Warning, read first, this may damage phone)

  • Are you sure you used a big enough knife to slit the tape?

  • @Integracer1 why do always need to compare the n900 to iphone? I have these two phones and I love them both. They have advantages and disadvantages, no mobile phone made is perfect...

  • Love the knife! Maybe I'll use one of my swords to do my unboxing...lol. I'm going to be ordering mine from amazon next week. Of course I'm going to have it over nighted, I can't wait!

  • Got it finally couple of days ago and absolutely love it.

  • where did you pre-order?
