WBNG-TV Action News "What does it take to be your news leader?" Promo (1996)

This ten second promotional spot was for the eleven o'clock broadcast. The station manager had hired a freelance photographer she had worked with previously who brought a Digital Betacam camera to shoot the action spots. Dan did all of the editing and is in a few of the shots playing a news photographer.

The spots use some of the oldest tricks in the book. Look around on YouTube and you can see other station's news promos from the 70's using the exact same action shots. And even with the Digital Betacam "film look" the photographer had stretched nylon hose over the back of the lens to diffuse the light.
