Well, since the factory didn't do it, you know it had to happen...here are two conversions that look pretty good to my eye...I don't know what structural modifications were made to make up for losing the rigidity that the metal top provides.

  • thats cool, hope dodge put this into production instead of an custom one like this

  • @zanjani13 Hey, Jon! I'm sure Dodge is looking at sales of these custom models to get a handle on how many they could sell of a factory version of the convertible. However, all bets are off seeing that Fiat is now in charge..they may be focusing on their bread and butter cars...we'll see what Fiat/Chrysler management is about!

    Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 i really think that the new fiat 500 is made for USA and Canada. and i just still cant believe that dodge stopped making the viper in 2011.

  • @zanjani13 Hey, Jon! I videoed a Viper yesterday, and talked to the owner...he said there are rumors that it's going to be resurrected...but so far not confirmed. I think a lot depends on how many regular cars they sell..they won't make big investments if they are stretched for cash. Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 that is true, the viper was expensive and dodge wanted to sell what they had but they did sell all there vipers because they are very unique and american sports car

  • @zanjani13 Hey, Jon...very true...and the pressure would be on to match Corvette in electronic sophistication....I don't think they would simply start manufacturing the old models again. At any rate, an update would be an expensive proposition! Thanks! :) Jack

  • @raconter1 I found out about them. They're made by RetroUSA and they are the same plastic that the facias are made out of with a chrome finish. I'd like to know how the finish would hold up to the elements. I'm not a big fan of aftermarket chrome (mostly because people chrome the wrong things) but the bumpers and trim around the front of the grill make the car looked complete. As soon as I saw a Challenger (or the new Mustang or Camaro) I wondered how slim chrome bumpers would look!

  • @jpatt1000 Hey, Mr. Big! I can't say I really examined them, but they looked like real metal to me! Thanks!

    :) Jack

  • The chrome bumpers on the 2010 look fantastic! Were they really metal or plated plastic?

  • @gene978 Hey, Gene! I do get around! Thanks! :D Jack
