Can you Help?
At some point during the 1980 Winter Olympic Broadcast (US), Jim McKay had an "acting" part in a humorous little skit--the sketch had two (very tough!) hockey players sitting in the penalty box, discussing the book one of them was authoring: A book about cooking (I kid you not)!
They managed to work themselves into a brawl over a disagreement about...get this...the "proper temperature at which to cook a souffle!!!"
A brilliant little skit I would dearly love to see again.

The American commentary of the crash is hilarious. "Look at him go!... Oh!... Ohhhhhhhh, baby!"

It was quite an exciting moment!! It is quite funny really to strap on a pair of ski's and then throw yourself down a quarter mile slide, and into the air!!! lol Now we have the poor luge sleder from Georgia to remember. This one had a much happier ending.......

Yes, the volume of sports broadcasting has increased exponentially, but the quality certainly hasn't......so many wonderful Saturday afternoons!!! best wishes

Like most Americans the Wide World of Sports was must a must see for me as a kid. With the loss of Jim Mckay last night. I thought it was a good time to relive this moment in American TV. RIP Jim you will be missed.
