Last night this orchestra was featured in a multi-part doco on Africa. When the orchestra started they had eight violins between 12 violinists. They'd rotate through (like volleyball players) so each could get a go. One an see how they are on the cusp of evolving their own original African orchestral sound and arrangements. At this stage the cultural fusions are more like juxtapositions. It is the infancy of a new "world music" form
