Yes you can, squats are a great exercise and I do them myself. If you are at the point where you can do the standing version of the wheel then you should do the wheels first before squats. The reason for this is you need total tension in your thighs to complete the standing ab wheels and doing squats first will compromise this. I would check out Kettlebells as this will help with core strength.

I've been doing the wheel from my knees. This is hard. How many reps do you suggest?

I started with 5 reps and about one minute rest periods. Shoot for 5 sets of 5 reps and then increase to 6 reps the first set and so on
