Building flatboats for San Pedro, Laguna

Roli Perez and his sailing-hobbyist friends are building boats in the furniture shop of Designs Ligna. These boats are the group's donation to the municipality of San Pedro for use in the distribution of relief goods in flooded areas. A week ago, the group volunteered to distribute relief goods in unreachable areas around the municipality, using boats, kayaks, and airboats.

Thanks for posting the video. slight correction on the caption though... These bahangka's weren't only donated to the Municipaility of San Pedro but to other LGU's affected by Ondoy and organizations like the the Red Cross. The design for the Bahangka as well the supervision of the construction were provided by the Philippine Home Boatbuilders Yacht Club (PHBYC), while materials, equipment and labor were provided by Emco plywood, Cord Chemicals and Polymer Products and Designs Ligna.
