    I thought the thyroid gland is located in the neck area(hence swelling of thyroid gland=goitre), is the kidney which is like way below, involved in this cancer thing as well?

    Just thought I would enlighten you to two things.

    1) Radiotherapy will not kill you, it is controlled, yes there are side effects, but no, they are not that serious and the more serious of them are extremely rare. Even so, it would not kill you.

    2) There is no such thing as Thyroid Kidney Cancer. Your Thyroid is near your Trachea and Larynx (Voice Box) and your kidneys, well, if anyone's kidney's are that far up?! They should already be seeing a Doctor.
