Well said. My impression was similar. This politician does not respect opposing views, nor will he consider suggestions that conflict with his agenda. I was at this Inslee mtg and joined in during the tele-town halls. Inslee is an elite, and worse than that he is a statist.

Hey, csolle66, I was at this meeting as well and all I can say is that it's a bit deceptive of you to only post part of the question and part of the congressman's response. The questioner was asking how we can trust the government again after having seen so many of its failures and Inslee agreed with the premise of the question. Furthermore, he pointed straight to the failures of the Bush Administration as an example of government failure to illustrate a simple point: competency matters.

I attended the Inslee Town Hall on Aug. 30. I am extremely disappointed in Jay's inability to listen to, consider & value all of his constituents views. Jay came to the meeting with his mind made up. Jay did not want to hear any view which differed from his own. Jay started the meeting indicating the mtg was Democracy in Action. This is not true. There is no democracy when your voice falls on deaf ears. This Town Hall was not democracy-it was merely a waste of his concerned constituents time.

I admit, the congressman had a long winded response. There is a limit to how much I can post on youtube. He blamed the Bush Administration which I think is unfair when you consider how spending has accelerated under the Obama Administration.
