There is a prophetic call upon the first nations culture and people groups of Canada. I believe that God is beginning to raise up strong first nations leaders who will be used by Him as mighty warriors to proclaim the message of Christ and push back the gates of hell.

Acts 17.26 speaks to the fact that "...from one blood" the Creator made "every nation of men to dwell on the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings..."

I believe that as the "first peoples" of Canada, our aboriginal brothers and sisters hold a prophetic key to unlocking and releasing revival and awakening across our land. Our God is a covenant keeping God. The Creator put within every people a cry to heal the land He gave for the boundaries of their dwelling. I believe that all of God's people can pray for the healing of our land. However, the fullness of healing cannot be released over our land until first nations leaders rise up to their preappointed place in the move of God, because the covenant for nation-wide revival primarily rests with them.

Many first nations people have been taught to believe that the there is a conflict between first nation's culture and the gospel. However, there is a strong heritage of first nations men and women who chose to live the way of Christ. For hundreds of years, their tradition was based off of the light of the gospel, and first nation's culture was coupled with the message of Christ. Many of them gave their lives to see the love of God transform their people.

June 21st is National Aboriginal Day, and to celebrate this heritage we want to share with you the story of Chief Whitecap (Wapahaska) and Reverend John Neilson Lake.
