Nah yeah. Happens. Usually the body flips into sitting position fast enough and with adrenaline pumping, I think he hardly noticed it (until maybe later).

Still, when doing a front-side half flip on a bridge pendulum - try thinking about diving e.g. go head first. It sometimes also helps to jump from a crouch the first time.
