I have to agree with you. Ro is nothing like Sisko, Pichard, or Janeway. Well, Pichard in my opinion is sorta a softy sometimes, but the thing about these captains is that they all let you know whos boss when the time is right. Ro just seems a little laidback in my opinion. Plus, I'm not really into this new actor. I liked the one from the 1st episode better. He seemed more convinencing to me.
The lack of Federation protocol is an interesting twist, with most of the high ranking crewmen killed in Iliad, the ship is left to deal with an inexperienced crew, even more inexperienced in Starfleet command protocol and demeanor. I think behavior will improve as they become more seasoned in command, especially Ro having to deal with a young and hot headed crew.
I wonder if Thunder Bay sucks in the future too? what a dismissal hell hole

what i would like to know, however:
Why is a gascloud in startrek never simply a gascloud?
Why is it always a new life form that at first takes the enterprise as an enemie ..by mistake
If you calculate how many gas clouds there are and how big the chance is that they are simply non-living gasclouds is about 5gazillion : 1.5
so if you 'reverse' this calculation: its a chance of 3:10gazillion that they meet one.
Yet they always meet these thigns that turn out to be alive
How bout that? hmmm?

really ..... its startrek
Get a grip guys, dont worry bout startrek
It's a show where , if you age 50 years by some space event, you can 'reverse' the effects and such nonsence
they use this 'reverse-what-happened' tactic all the time, talking about transwarpstabilizermodifcationstream statistics ... from the future, etc etc
really, dont worry bout startrek, lol
