  • I never saw one with no grille clothe

  • yes, according to VICTOR DATA BOOK, this model, with serial number 501 through 39500, had NO speaker grille. (late 1925 through early 1926). Beginning with serial model 39501, the grille and cloth was added to the FOUR-THREE.

    mine is serial #36158.

  • NOW you have...

  • I commented that the little 4-3 really puts out,and it disappeared.

  • you should hear it with a loud-tone needle! too much for my cheap camera to capture without distortion!

  • When I commented the 1st time,I said you have the nice 4-3 with turned legs.If you feel a horizontal piece thru the middle of the horn,it's an orthophonic. Not all have the Ortho. horn

  • orthophonic victrolas also featured western electric's straight (non re-entrant) horns. they are still 'exponential' though not folded horns like the bigger models. also early 4-3 models (CONSOLETTE) and COLONY do NOT have speaker grills or cloth covering the horn.
