XL Report: The Rusyns

Today, the political situation in Ukraine, the former Soviet republic, is unstable. Political parties argue over who should rule the country. The people also cant understand which part to take. But do you know that in Carpathian Ukraine live people who have other problems? They have no land of their own, but they have their national attributes - a flag, an emblem and an anthem. Their language is believed to be dead, but they speak and write poetry in it. They call themselves the Rusyns. This small ethnic group want their voice to be heard and recognized. @Slavko961234 Until the 20th century ukrainian in Western Ukraine called themselves as Rusyns. They believed that speak Rusyn. Now there is also speak a dialect boikivskyi or hutsultskyj (that means rusyns), but they consider that ther language is Ukrainian. Lemky of Transcarpathia, Slovakia and Poland are western Ukrainian ethnic groups as boykos and hutsulys!!!

I am an American who's grandparents are Rusyns. I maintain my Orthodox Faith, member of the Russian Orthodox Church. It's great to see an English language report on my ancestry. God grant them Many Years!

@scumimpaler Мене також дивує то що пише шановний пан лемко...Скажу віверто, що зі своїм знайомим лемком із Словаччини спілкуємося рідними нам діалектами, переписуємося використовуючи кириличну абетку і задоволений нашим спілкуванням та порозумінням.А то що лемко уникає від спілкування русинською мовою з бойком, то це ставить під сумнів його карпатське (русинське) походження!!! і ще виникає підозра що той дехто намагаєтся злочинця, псевдорусина Сидора Дмитра виправдовувати!!!
