The newscaster mispoke. The students are paid from the WorkAbility grant while they are in the internship. The internships usually last three months. After the internship is over, and if the student finds permanent employment elsewhere, the new employer (not the state) pays the student directly. Hope this clears up the discrepancy.

Skip to: 1:52 of the video. So *if* they are later hired, they get paid with *state funds*?! Hello? That's fascism! And we wonder why we have a $24 billion state deficit and are on the verge of issuing IOU's in violation of US Constitution Article 1, Section 10.
