Kent Derricott is a loser gaijin in japan who sells out his dignity and behaves as a trained money. This is the "story" of his life, though it is mostly BS. The acting by the people in this documentary far exceeds that of this genious

  • If you knew anything about Japanese TV you would know that Kent Derricott is a GENIUS. The comedy in Japan is mostly slapstick, he knows the culture and was brilliant at it. There's a reason he's famous in Japan.

  • Kent and his wife, Barbara, are extremely gracious and kind people. We knew them when we lived in Tokyo a number of years ago. He does speak Japanese exceptionally well and his comedic character plays very well on Japanese television. You don't know him and yet feel qualified to comment on his motivation and skills. You're a moron and probably max out by posting other people's videos on youtube. What a loser...lol.

  • How do you behave as a "trained money" (see description) I would like to know

  • LOVE the constant clicking noises

  • Kent Derricott, David Spector, and Kent Gilbert are the epitome of Ugly Americans.

  • i love japan... my last name is... omg the same...0_o

  • ah, i've heard a lot about that book and have kind of wanted to read it... maybe i should, thanks. anyway, i completely agree with you... well-stated. it comes across as a harsh reality, but hey, if it works there i can't genuinely take issue with it.

  • It looks moronic because it suppress individuality but their highest moral is filial piety, and fitting in the group. Japanese mentality is that if they are not one of us, they are our enemy - thus reserved disdain. They are more of task masters then individual beings. You should read "The Chrysanthemum and The Sword" by Ruth Benedict

  • Kent is Mormon. Enough said.

  • japanese tv is all moronic.

there's a special kind of disdain reserved for foreigners but every variety show requires, to an extent, that its talents 'sell out their dignity.' I guess that raises the question of whether or not true dignity can be sold... personally I don't take everything seriously and don't think less of anyone for acting like an idiot, because it's fun sometimes. By the way, your off-topic advertisement for absinthe in the vid really makes me respect your persuasion skills.
