A built sti would still be less than both, and the zr1 price tag is over 100K. SUBARU, FTW.
Oh, and you can use the sti you can have a good time hauling your friends around when trying to pull on a 996 turbo. Excelent vid.

sti won b.c. of the rwd conversion on the porsche but if the stis puttin out 550 a 21 psi id take that over a porsche any day

@ncraan yeah right dude Sti's are a streat weapon, but a turbos in a totaly differant level. they're not comparible, i would know my dad has one. We cruzed to salt lake city Utah at just under 190mph. Turbos are the real deal, so i think its funny when guys talk about tunning stis that beat turbos, yea ok. See you on the auto bann half-wit tool lozers. Have fun Fart-Piping around in your plastic shit peace........

This 996 was converted to rear wheel drive, the owner is a really rich guy who spent 80k on this car. It is a highway race car, runs supra and etc. I was hanging out at my cousins shop, and his friends were bugging me to race him just for fun. I was like there is no way i will keep up with this car. Anyways make story short, I won....But he would of raped me on the highway...But fun race....Hey it might of been the porsche driver too that sucked. I dynoed 500 to the wheels @ 21psi.

Indeed, porsches are actualy under tunned to insure reliablitiy, comfort and preciseness.
If you chip a porsche you can easily crank 60-150 "real' hp and torque.....
Theres plenty of companies, like Ruf, BSR or what ever.
this one was deffinately stock, i mean thers just no way,
This Turbo does 0-60 in 3.9.
the sti stock around 4.5-8 or higher.
so indeed arguing about cars on this is pointless because its about the mods/tunning. NOt the cars stock preformance....

Both cars werent stock, it is a fully built sti, piston, rods,valve springs,cams full engine management etc. The porsche had plenty of aftermarket parts, Single turbo conversion, it was built for highway. high tune for 800hp, low tune 650hp daily something like that the owner told us. So as I said it was a fun race. Not putting the porsche down, I love boxer engines....
