Band: The Doors
Album: The Very Best of The Doors
Track Number: 9
Release: 2007
Genre: Rock
Lyrics:

Yeah! Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Can't you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why won't you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?

Now, I'm gonna love you
Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I

Come on, come on, come on, come on
Now touch me, baby
Can't you see that I am not afraid?
What was that promise that you made?
Why won't you tell me what she said?
What was that promise that you made?

I'm gonna love you
Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I
I'm gonna love you
Till the heavens stop the rain
I'm gonna love you
Till the stars fall from the sky for you and I

Stronger than dirt

  • to everyone talking about "getting laid to this song" if you were actually a doors fan you'd know morrison riddled every song with buncha metaphors, this isnt necessarily about human erotica, the love is just another metaphor.

  • @telybilly

Finally, somebody that says right instead of fucking.

  • @CarrerioCj i love you lol

  • just throwing it out there i am making you listen to this right now on skype, and you're blushing (:

  • @in18v I loved the Doors and never knew about that movie. Is it on you tube??

  • Check out the 1965 Ajax White Knight commercial he miimics with the "stronger than dirt" line at the very end of the song.

  • good song !!

  • @telybilly Regardless of whether there are secret metaphors about drugs known only to a select culture of mostly drug users, there is no denying that the writer intended his lyrics to evoke erotic and ultimately tender, loving feelings. No reasonable person can hear this song and not think of love. An alternate live version on Youtube has like 25MM views. Many of the comments are women and they are not making comments about drug use. First and foremost, this is a song about love.
