  • @TheTvrulesthenation

A majority of Blinks chord progression follow similar to the typical "punk" progression which is 4/4, quaver phrases of I V VI IV also a majority of Blinks stuff follows a intro, verse, chorus, middle8, verse, chorus (typical song form). You can draw comparabilities to Blinks music from this and you can to anything but I defy you to say 'It's too Blink 182' where it's everything Blink's music isn't; Innovative and Different. Lyrics have huge part to play, e.g. blues?

  • @bobotohough

Right so if you're going to toss around such terms, explain then. I've heard egotistical music fans throw out terms like ''chord progressions & structure'' etc without the slightest clue of what it means or how its related to the music in question.

Genre is not entirely opinion based, there are distinctions that allow certain genres to be the main of a song & often many in one song. (eg nobodys going to say Claptons music isn't some form of blues)

    Lyrics don't denote genre, how?

  • @TheTvrulesthenation Well you evidently are, as this is a completely different structure and chord progressions than Blink have used. Lyrics and themes have a big part to play in the genre of music, just as much as what you think is pop-punk or not. Genre is all opinion based.

  • @bobotohough

Or the song is pop-punk the same genre that Blinks music mainly is & Simons voice has always had a reminiscint hint of pop-punk singers when he's not screaming. Lyrics & themes have little classification of what genre a song is.

No i'm not on acid (at the time of that writing) & i most certainly am not musically inept

  • @tvrulesnation it's nothing like Blink 182, for a start the singer is sining in a Scottish accent and it's not about bumholes like Blink sing about.

If you think this sounds like Blink, you are musically inept or on acid.

  • @nawmoses WHAT?! i dont get why this could make you not like them

  • Its real blink-182 who i despise, but the time signatures & drumming & buildup are fucking ace in the song so i really ain't complaining.
