PBRA Refinishers Online The original Bathtub Refinishers Association since 2002,
UV coatings bathtub Tile counter top coating. Needed a sample made in 1 Hour to sell a counter top and tile refinishing job. Impossible to do with conventional coatings but thanks to the PBRA UV System we were able to present sample and sell a $4500 Commercial Job the same day.

  • It would have been user error as it does take practice. It could have been coating issues. I doubt it was the light. I have also gotten many calls on Almond or Bone colors not working. I doubt that's a light issue either. Regardless Our system will not be released to protect the integrity of this industry and PBRA members. Lets hope the UV Problems dont shed a bad light on the process for the sake of being first. We are a select few and plan to keep it that way. The elite of the Elite.

  • I am the one getting calls from Actual Customers about other UV coatings on the Market and Other Lights. Our products will not be released to the PUBLIC until we are 100 % sure we do not hurt our Members. The Only Customers will be PBRA members, I have gotten many calls regarding UV coatings not drying and the other half Yellowing. I have no idea whose products or lights they are using but there is short list when you consider our Market. A Ct. Refinisher Called me and He had to re-do a Hotel...

  • It's impossibe for you to be getting calls from our customers because we have 2 lights at the coatings factory for matching the coating to the lights and 3 lights to the PBRA Partners who are beta testing the coatings for every situation a refinisher will encounter in the field. If we run into a problem or need tweaking we send the info back to the coatings factory for tweaking. A scientic beta test which has lasted a year is in place before releasing it to the PBRA members.

  • If we have a 1200 watt light with 3 inch bulb that would put us about 400 watts per inch. They are not cheap either price wise. Close to the cost of your units. But they have only one purpose. To cure matched coatings to our lite. We are taking a very slow scientific approach. Let the lighting people do their job with our coatings factory. We only supply ergonomic information in the field test for them to adjust.

  • We speak everyday to the founder of our lighting company and Coatings Factory too. The Coatings Factory used these lights to develop our product together so they would work. Your light is probably geared toward many situations and products. We needed UV with a small light for practical reasons. We never said your light does not work. We are sure it does. Next time just talk to us on a normal level. As professionals we listen to all expert opinions. The light works with our products. Period.

  • We hope this clears this up for you. If you need to speak with our lighting people we can gladly point you that way. Your light cures in 3 to 4 seconds. That's Great. But ultimately even if our light took 30 seconds we are still putting a surface back in service the same day using UV coatings. That was our goal. We are not going to argue about seconds when normal dry time for bathtubs averages 4 to 24 hours. Coatings were developed using this light. That I believe is the difference.

  • However, Gordon. If you would care to use the analogy of the automobile industry, we can oblige. This is rather like an engineer from Honda Corp. hounding the designers at Bugatti. Exclusivity is the name of the game in this case, and the performance will be proven on the road. We aren't concerned with obtaining your stamp of approval as it truly is without merit or content. Ease of use and outperforming the competition every time will suffice in our book.

  • One more question for you here. So you're saying that you took into account the toxicity of the coating when engineering your light?

  • Gordon, you don't get calls from ANY of our customer as we have not released any of our UV units or materials to the public yet. So if we're going to speak on 'hazy claims', lets begin there, shall we?

  • I get calls from some of your customers who are confused. When you explain things properly, you do not cause confusion or negativity toward the UV process. Small users are trying to use a tool to make a living not become UV lamp specialists. There are many factors involved in engineering a good system this includes the toxicity of the coating, durability of the finish etc. My motivation was to draw your attention to hazy claims which have been misinterpreted. I am glad you have corrected that.

  • Gordon, I have a simple question for you. Please feel free to consider it fully before you answer. What wattage are you professing to be transferring to the surface that you are trying to cure. Keep in mind that you have a 1500 watt system with a transfer cable inducing line loss and a 5 inch bulb. Just assume that I know the formulas and already know the answer to these questions. Respond at your convenience.
