The World's Largest Emergency Underground Hospital

Rambam Medical Center in Haifa, Israel:
Seven thousand cubic meters of concrete were poured this week to form the base of the world's largest emergency underground hospital. For 36 hours running, shifts of 70 workers and 80 cement mixers worked to lay the foundation of the emergency facility, which is designed to withstand conventional, chemical , and biological attacks.

Totally inspirational video. I wish we were doing the same thing in New York, where no one talks about it but the underlying feeling is that everyone is waiting for the next attack. There is no plan that we are aware of, like in Israel, where the sound of alarms lets everyone know to go to shelters. Does NY even have shelters? Born here and don't even know! We could learn so much from Israel -- those people seem to do whatever it takes to keep their citizens safe, no matter how unpopular....

@stevenlburke I think he's saying that if Israel ever decided to finally CRUSH & DEFEAT THE JIHADIS COMPLETELY instead of being so "humanitarian" about it, they wouldn't have to spend $350 million to build a hospital UNDERGROUND.

I admire the project but Israel needs to crush the PA, Hamas, Hezbullah & Iran once & for all. Remember, when you kind to the wicked, you wind up being wicked to the kind.

I barely figure that could ever happen but i can't figure even more to see Israel accepting to join a nation forum that financially - accidentally or not - is the main dispenser for the palestinian terrorism and more than often votes United Nations Org. agenda against Israel itself.
