Disciple of internationally renowned kathak master and guru, Pandit Chitresh Das, Rina Mehta performs thaat and bol paran in a rare 9 1/2 beat taal, showcasing the four elements essential to the dance -- tayari (technique), layakari (playing with rhythm), khoobsurti (beauty), and nazaakat (delicacy). She is accompanied by her Guruji, Pandit Chitresh Das as well as Sri Abhijit Banerjee (tabla), Sri Jayanta Banerjee (sitar), and Sri Debashish Sarkar (vocals).
