I had a few more tatami omote mats from Mugen Dachi and i bought some very short beach mats (1800x450cm)
I tried some new cuts this week and I'm happy to say i pulled of most of them.

Sword used: remounted Paul Chen Practical XL Katana

  • Great video! I've only started this year, and your videos are a great help. Thanks for posting and 9:32 is beautiful.

  • @47Shakes Thanks,glad i can help.

  • 4:32, i love drawing my blade like that, looks so smooth

  • @ZentetsukenVII Thanks.

  • Some people say that the Paul Chen practical XL isn't very versatile and that the blade is fragile. Is this true? Because I want to do heavy cutting with this katana and also some iaido... Which means blade on blade contact.

  • Blade on blade contact ?? what kind of iai is that ?

You should never even touch another blade with your sword, that could be very dangerous. As for practical xl,well I've used this blade for cutting for last 3-4 years, i cut beach mats,yellow/green bamboo, tatami omote, wooden dowels,etc.. the blade never took a set,and It's very sharp.

  • Awesome Cutting ! What does real Tatami Omote cost per case of 10 or 20 mats?
