In this video I am describing the printing process as it evolves from plate to paper. This process is sped along in thanks to our Computer To Plate (CTP) system. 1 of our 3 40" presses is shown which is our 5 color Heidelberg with inline Aqueous coating capabilities. Should you have any ?'s please feel free to look us up online at www.odeecompany.com or send an email to travis@odeecompany.com

  • Well said. Rather than shellac, we use emulsion. And we do not use grease based inks. Either Soy or Oil based.

  • Printing plates are coated with a light sensitive shellac that hardens and becomes water repellent when exposed to light. The image is burned into the plate and the non image is washed off in the developer, exposing the grain of the plate which holds water. The grease based ink will stick to the image but not the water filled grain.

  • @lemerant Well I dont know about brilliant but he is a good speaker, but he forgot to even mention the coater.

  • Just wondering how much ink a 24 inch by 36 inch poster would take up? And how much would this machine cost? Thanks.

  • Cannon 7000 digital 4/c press needs a tech from Cannon not an operator.

Lots of down time, clickage costs, fuser marks leading to heaps of wastage and more running costs.

Now lets talk about the wages needed to keep the card going through the machine. Card stock marks the fuser sleave, and the white plastic kogs that are easily burred and need replacing from a Cannon tech.

Registration problem, scewing the Tech will need to fix.

    Yep, no comparrison to offset.

  • Great press, and great quality. It will beat any digital machine out there for quality, speed, & costs.

The cost of a 4 colour machine is $3 per plate, 3 hours setup (maximum) and a few chemicals. This machine earns around $1.10 per sheet after paper, wage, and runtime costs. 10k run your earning lots of money.

Digital machines you need a few setup pages the same as offset. You have to pay an average of 0.19 before wages and running cost. 10k on this machine .. your paying for the job.

  • this guy is brilliant

  • and it supports at least 5 000 sheets daily? it depends the work and use you'll give.

  • My company just bought a cannon 7000 digital 4/c press no water or ink no plates needed needed. Guys like me that ran GTO's and A.B. dicks now have to learn ADOBE and PITSTOP! PRESSPRESS/PRINTER in one! Nice Speedmaster by the way.
