Just a demonstration of what I experience before video playback with VLC 1.1.2 using ATi's proprietary driver with Ubuntu 10.04. If anyone has any idea's as this has been a bug now for almost 2 years.

Here's a link to an old, bug report..

  • hi dude

nice job! What video card are you using? AMD/ATI 5000 series? does the drivers for Eyefinity works well in Ubuntu?

    thanks

  • @caiolagana Yea this was done with a XFX HD 5450, You get tripple screen setup, as seen in the video, but it's more like 3 desktop in extended mode. Not true eyefinity like with windows

  • I just fixed the problem by selecting the "Direct3D video output" mode.

  • I am experiencing the same problem as this at the moment on a completely different operating system (Windows XP), so clearly the bug is with VLC alone.

VLC version 1.1.10, but it was doing it in earlier versions as well.

  • @applegekko can you play games ?

and would you mind posting your pc hardware

  • @diabolicalheaven use the terminal and put in the required command to install the file.

    I'm guessing you're a newbie to Linux OS's.

  • im trying to install the new 10.7 driver. how do you install it?
