  • After about 6 months of training on the floor press, my right scapula gets strained. Maybe because it is getting smashed by the weight of the bar?? I don't know, but do you have any advice?

  • Like any exercise you should cycle the exact variation in order to avoid overuse injuries. In particular, the bench press and floor press do not allow for free scapula movement which is why using the swiss ball versions and good old push up variation are needed to from time to time to avoid those issues.

  • @vassilli19910666 You have to buy some exercise mats or lots of pillows, to raise the bar.

  • K dude I don't have a rig like yours any ideas how to get the damn bar in the position to actually do the floor press withouth killing my self!??

  • Dunno about you but I find the floor press with a single dumbell to recruit all the pressing muscles equally so it's great , better then a BP

  • That is great advice. When I do go through my "injury cycle," I usually use a PowerPushup (band resistance) device to add resistance for my pushups, because when my scapula is injured, pushups do not hurt in any way. Thanks!!
