Just finished building a 347 stroker for my Capri bracket car to replace the 351 Cleveland that I have been racing in several different configurations for the past 23 years. Just started it for a short time to set the timing and see if therre were any issues that needed immediate attention. The next day I did the obligatory 20 minute break in cycle at 2500 rpm and varying the rpms.

  • awesome car!

  • Thank you. It is certainly not professional quality, but it is what I can afford as a non rich guy with a family. I do all the work myself. There is no better feeling than beating a rich guy in a bracket race that you just know that the person paid someone to do the work for him and he just climbed in and raced the completed for him car.

  • what did it run ? did you get timing issues fixed.just wondering i have 347 same heads around 11.5 to1 same intake bout 630 cam lift

  • Yes, I ran it for all of 2008. I sent the MSD out to get repaired so that fixed that problem. Ended up running 6.60's in the 1/8th at 101 or so mph. 60 foots around 1.46. Unfortunately I spun a rod bearing over the winter last year when I had to start it to move it one day during 20 degree weather. Did it at an idle, the oil must have been too thick. I might do a video on it sometime.

  • @RedOct74LH - the Mercury Capri of that model was a rebadged and slightly restyled Ford Mustang. Not the Capri you're thinking of.

  • @capriracer351 DUDE THAT SUCKS, SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS BUT GET ER BACK TOGETHER!

  • nice steed...

  • Hey, just letting you know - nice work on showing people these cars deserve a spot right next to the Mustangs. If anything, a spot higher than that because of how hard they are to come by in good shape. I'm actually REALLY hoping to grab this mint one on Craigslist for $1,500 this weekend. T-tops and all. I used to own a Fox, and still have my Camaro. These Capri's are about as different as it gets while still using an awesome platform.

  • ahh yeah no better feeling! There's nothing like beating a rich kid with his dad's bmw with my friend's mustang we built together!

  • I don't particularly care what you think. I laughed the first time, now you show up here again a month later. Quit wasting my time with your useless opinions.
