I rotoscoped a lightsaber effect using a couple of Adobe programs.
I know the sound is pretty off, but hopefully it's not TOO bad :)
Basically just a test.

    Unfortunately, rotoscoping is still pretty much the only was to do it (so yeah, processing every frame). Occasionally you can get away with letting the program fill in the movement between several frames, but that only really works if it's barely moving, or moving in a very predictable arc. lol once you get into the rhythm of it, it can go pretty quickly though :P
