The Challenger tragedy reminds me of the Chernobyl disaster.
They always have gone hand in hand in my memories I don't know why.

We left the moon, and did what?
The space station was first sold to us as a counter to the USSR's space station.
WEll, that defence of the space station didnt last as the USSR fell and we ended up with Russian's as part of the new team.
We still have the station, and it's almost finished.
and then?
The moon again?

sweet! My father helped build the engines on the 1st rocket to outter space he was there in Cape Canaveral, Kennedy Space Center while it went up in the control area! Remember that old rocket?Neil Armstrong became the first human being to set foot on the Moon I have a photo from him to our family signed!
Look how tech has improved since the 60's, this is a great one you made!

A good question, but it assumes that "restoring NASA to greatness" is a good thing. Sometimes I'm not so sure. I agree that as a kid, watching the first moon walks was the most exciting thing ever, but today I'd rather spend that money on health care and education. Maybe a low-key NASA is a good thing.
