I JUST WANT TO THANK ALL THE VIEWERS WHO HAD LEFT WONDERFUL COMMENTS REGARDING THIS OUTSTANDING CLASSIC MOVIE SINCE I HAVE UPLOADED IT. I'M SO GLAD YOU TUBE WATCHERS ENJOY THIS MOVIE AS MUCH AS I DO. IT WAS MY PLEASURE TO SHARE THIS MOVIE WITH MY FELLOW YOU TUBERS.

Mama is more awake than anyone in the house. The problem is that "these days" no one cares what they do, so long as they make money. "Sure, let's open another liquor store in a black neighborhood- who cares, so long as it's profitable." In "her days" as you put it, maybe people didn't take action out of fear and desperation. Maybe they were wiser than we are. I'd accept that. Walter Lee needs something, that's a fact, but he don't need this.

I don't think it's about wanting her children to live in her days, or in the past, but wanting them to simply display the moral fiber she and her husband has instilled in them. :-)

@meandmyself364 Not necessarily. Like liquor is legal. It's not like he was gonna se crack onthe corner. Owning a liquor store us a business an a business brings revenue. I mean money isnt over morals but money is what people need to live, u can say alote of companies and businesses can lead to someknea family being hurt but that don't mean the business itself is bad. #shithappens... get over it...

maybe I'm the wrong audience for this movie - I disagree with most things 'mama' says. She yells at her son and she tells him they don't need money, but without some way to make a better living, they will remain the same nobody family.
