"It follows that one of the most sensational charges leveled against the Bush White House -- that it orchestrated the leak of Ms. Plame's identity to ruin her career and thus punish Mr. Wilson -- is untrue...it now appears that the person most responsible for the end of Ms. Plame's CIA career is Mr. Wilson." - Washington Post 8/31/2006

"Mr. Wilson chose to go public with an explosive charge, claiming -- falsely, as it turned out -- that he had debunked reports of Iraqi uranium-shopping in Niger and that his report had circulated to senior administration officials. He ought to have expected that both those officials and journalists such as Mr. Novak would ask why a retired ambassador would have been sent on such a mission and that the answer would point to his wife." - Washington Post, 8/31/2006

"He [Wilson] diverted responsibility from himself and his false charges by claiming that President Bush's closest aides had engaged in an illegal conspiracy. It's unfortunate that so many people took him seriously." - Washington Post, 8/31/2006

Libby did leak her name to the press, as did Rove, Armitage and others. Libby took the extra steps of lying to feds and a grand jury. That is fact. So, what does Bush do? Keeps Rove as his closest confidant, and commutes Libby's perjury sentence. As a Democrat, I thank the good lord for sending Bush to once and for all end the myth of competent republican leadership. Rep's will pay for decades for that blunder.

It isn't a fact. He wasn't convicted of "leaking" anything. You are making that up - but as a liberal, that is not a surprise - truth is relative, and irrelevant, to your worldview.

I guess you have a major reading comprehension problem, since I clearly stated what Libby was convicted of. His being convicted of perjury to a grand jury and federal officers only backs what EVERYONE already knows, Libby, Rove, Armitage and Fleischer all passed on the identity of a COVERT CIA agent who was working on WMD's in Iran to discredit Joe Wilson, who by the way was absolutely correct. Now, if you choose to side with those people, that says everything about YOUR worldview.

If you like Mr. Franken & the ideals he stands for please Google Al Franken & it will take you to his campaign site. If you can afford to contribute EVEN just $3.-$10. (or whatever you can afford) it will surely help. Al's campaign is a grass roots one funded by small contributios; unlike Norm Coleman's which is funded by corporate America (big business looking for influence-PACS).You DON'T have to live in Minnesota to help Al so please do. Al's interests are those of the average person!

Good ol' Al Fkn. His best work of course was as a hidden writer on SNL. His next best was as the gorilla handler in "Trading P" w/ Ed Mrphy & Jmi Curtis & that other guy from SNL Dn Akrd. What a sophomoric sense of non-humor Frnkn & Lttrmn emit.
