Diaclone, what the Transformers were originally called, existed in 1980. (Though they didn't transform until '82.)

i had a lot of go bots and to other assholes go bots 83 tranformers 84 not cheap rip offs but similar marketing ideas based on pretty much the the same groups targeting the focus audience

@nujubionicles Gobot was on the toy selves before the Transformers. They was originally call Machine Robo in Japan done by Bandai in 1982.

not really but to be honest leader1 has no standing detail other then his face which looks like g1 sligeshot, i mean look on the video all his plane bit get covered or removed, he is just a plain boring looking robot

Do you think Go-bots themed repaints are bad? I customized my Cybertron Ransack to look like Cy-kill.
