Ghost Pepper Challenge - 7 Idiots

The time had come to join the elite group of idiots who have eaten a whole ghost pepper, raw and fresh. I was able to gather 6 of my moronic co-workers to take the dive into the pit of pain with me.

We have been growing these down here in the southern Florida heat, and needless to say, they packed one helluva punch! We have been using them for all sorts of different recipes, but no one has had the guts, or lack of brains, to eat an entire raw pepper.... Until now!

Hence, the challenge idea started gaining steam throughout the night and by the end of the shift no one wanted to be "the guy who couldn't do it". I think we all wish we would have been "the guy" now! The pain was even more intense than I expected and would not let up for anything. The burn in the back of my throat was worse than anything I have experienced or could possibly explain.Similar to having actual fire or a burning charcoal brick laying on your throat and nothing I tried could slow it down.

After 5 minutes I went for the milk to try to calm that damn burning in my throat and it helped for about a second, then it instantly starts burning again. 30 minutes into it, my stomach felt like someone kicked me repeatedly straight in the gut. That pain continued through the night and the next morning. I think it was from all that milk!

Well there you go, have a good laugh at our expense!

There should be a part 2 coming that is taken by someone who knew how to aim a camera, once I get it off his phone.

@Michigan1985 7 duds? I think not. I have eaten many ghost peppers and hotter and these were full blast. Just because we don't act like a bunch of screaming idiots doesn't mean it wasn't ridiculously hot. I've seen guys do these and butcht's with barely even a flinch. Go watch Nagabob and ask him if he's faking it, nothing fazes the guy.

Go look at chilli heads that review them, for instance, neil from the hippy seed company, or leo at ukhomegrownchile, or even paulmtonkin! You have just been watching hyped up videos by people that dare their mates to try them.
