Today, Sunday August 8th, 2010 is the birthday of "Nothing's Shocking", a lithium electric conversion of a 1999 Porsche Boxster. The car was test driven a short distance before the steering linkage disengaged. The car was powered by only one of the three battery strings feeding the Zilla Z2K. Amperage was limited to 200A to protect the front battery string until the other two strings can be installed. The performance with one string was better than expected with surprising torque while in 3rd gear. We struggled to get the car back into the garage because of the steering problem which was related to disassembly during removal of the gas tank. We are expecting completion of the two other battery strings in the next couple of weeks, and are hopeful the car will exceed predicted specs!

very nice. the boxster is my favorite donor car if it has to be a conventional heavy steel car. you can get them at decent prices and they still look classy. perhaps replace the old hazy headlights with new clear glass models if they fit.

Thanks, will probably refinish the car once complete to make it feel new.
