The town is gone. Our memories will live on. Visit http://www.phillipsblackhawks.com for more. My apologies to the girl's club 'Hi Phi' for getting the spelling and possible meaning of their name incorrect. Thank you, Sharon
I loved this!!! We were living in Phillips when I was born in 1951. We lived there until 1956. I was 4 when we moved from there. My siblings went to school there. My brothers Dwain, Larry, Willie, Johnny Coggin and my Sister Thelma Coggin all attended school there. We moved before I attended there & we moved to Borger. to a farm. I have quite a few memories of the swimming pool and little store there. Not alot of memories overall but enough to be sad to see it all torn apart by Phillips.
This may be the best documented history of Phillips. I grew up in Amarillo. All I remember of Phillis is driving by and seeing the landscape stained black by the carbon! I'm working on a short story that starts in Phillips. Thanks for the input.
Thanks for the memories...It was a great place to grow up.....brad
