Gil Sharone during his set in Atlanta, GA on 1-16-08. This song is from their album, Miss Machine (2004) on Relapse Records. Gil deserved the Pro-video camera but we chose to use our other cameras due to DEP's known stage presence and the chance for damage. ha!

  • Woops my bad. :D

    Just skimmed it.

  • I see you figured it out..but wanted everyone to know that any video we put up with a band of this caliber is always approved by the band or Gil in this case before it's posted. You can guarantee the song name is correct. ;-)

  • i think they both play drums.

  • I for one hear plenty of groove in this song. Perhaps you're looking so hard at the complexity of it that you're missing the pulse. It's very complex, but it also grooves, and in my opinion groove is incredibly important in any type of music, especially this.

  • @Hobble Truest comment of all time

  • Chris Pennie is better.

  • seems like Gil plays PDP Ace 14x6.5 brass snare. he's awesome!

  • @DillingerEscapeMan Haha, clever. Yeah, he's just not my favorite, personally. To each his own.

  • @pushherinthesnow Gil should stick to reggae ? That is ignorance turned up to 11

  • @pushherinthesnow he's the only one of DEP's drummers that can play groove music and technical stuff. the other guys are good but lack a good pocket which doesn't really matter for DEP because it's so technical and fast.

  • @funkymunkydrummer Eh. Just my opinion. Gil should stick to reggae. I personally like Chris Pennie the best.
