They were right here though; the 1990s were the era of bloated CD single marketing shite multi-release crap sold at a reasonable (subsidised?!) price for the first week then put up to *four quid* once it was in the charts. Ugh..
You may have a point there, but I doubt whether the band had total control over how their records would be released.
I personally do not really mind that different singles have different B-sides, otherwise they might never have been released at all. Even though it can be frustrating, having different variants of the same release can make collecting more fun, imho :) .
