The Krag Jørgensen rifle is by far the most produced Norwegian rifle design. The rifle was designed by the Norwegians Ole Hermann Johannes Krag and Erik Jørgensen during the late 19th century. It was used by Norwegian soldiers in the campaign against the Germans in 1940, and during the occupation, it was used by the Hird (armed militia of the Norwegian national socialist party Nasjonal Samling) and the German occupation force at coastal artillery intstallations ans so on. It was also used to some extent by the Norwegian resistance.

Some facts about the M1894:
Magazine capacity: 5 rounds
Calibre: 6,5x55
Barrel length: 76 cm
Total length; 126,8 cm
Weight: 4,22 kg

  • Any idea where I could find a speedloader like that?

  • @bbbvvv312 I am not sure if they ever built speedloaders for the US Krags, same with the Danish ones. The Norwegian ones will only accept 6,5x55. These might pop up on ebay and such sites from time to time, the one my mates uses in the video was bought on a Norwegian internet auction site. I bought one on that same site a couple of months after shootig this video.

  • A ++ on this video very informative!

  • @Lumotaku Thanks mate!

  • Great video!

  • I really would like a Norwegian Krag in original military condition but finding one of r sale in the US is impossible. I wonder how hard it is to import one from Norway.

  • Also because of the loading system on this rifle, the Americans also realized that it wasn't what you wanted in a stressful situation, like the guy said. The Spamiards were using German Mausers and the US basically copied the Mauser when they made the 1903 Springfield.

  • That rifle was also used by the US Army in the Spanish-American war.

  • @chauchat3137 you should do that for sure! ^^ If youre lucky you might get one that fires well. My doesnt. The barrel is worn out, and i wont use 300$ for a new one. But it looks great. :D

  • @gavamild thanks for the reply, i live in commie canada, so they probably require a 12 level PAL prohibited and are probably a billion dollars lol. yeah they are scarce in the west, the only time i ever shot a danish krag was when my buddy had his greatgrandfather's rifle, of course he had emigrated here from denmark after ww1? ww2? yeah need to travel to norway! or im up for trade of my uncles jungle carbine

  • @chauchat3137 its not expensive if you live in Norway. you can get them for about 1000kr and more.

  • now are the rifles themselves expensive? because they look very interesting

  • @Therazor909

Du løfter ekstraktoren og vrir sluttstyket.

    trekk så bak.

Deling av sluttstykke kan jeg beskrive nermere på PM:)

  • Krag Jørgensen: One of the most under rated military battle rifles. I'd shoot my model 1898 a lot more often if the ammo wasn't so damn expensive.
