@max10wonderboy a MPFL reconstruction is a new procedure which can help more than a lateral release.

Not sucesfull at all! The lateral ligamnt is cut, and the cut part not always heal good or if it does it is replaced by scar tissue which is painfull, less elastic and more willing to broke. The cartilage under the patella is only shaved which will only bring you to arthrisis. It may be succesfull for some one however not for many. just look on forums to people and who did after 2 years if yo play sport, the same injury re-occur. It is time to find a new procedure for this type of problem!
